Update to Significant Event Notice

Further to the Significant Event Notice dated 20 November 2009 (‘the Notice’) regarding the Bookmakers Superannuation Fund, we now write to provide an update.

As you would be aware the lodgement of the Fund’s Financial Statements for the 2008/09 financial year and 2008/09 Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) return have been delayed pending receipt of additional valuation information requested by the Fund’s new auditors, in relation to mortgage and property assets held in the Fund's Balanced Investment Strategies.

This process continues and is well advanced, with the majority of valuation information having been received. However, as we are now approaching the Christmas period, we do not we expect the Financial Statements and APRA return to be finalised and lodged before the end of December 2009.

This means that the production and despatch of the Annual Fund Report and Member Statements to members will also be delayed beyond the end of the year.

The 20 November 2009 Notice detailed a range of practical measures implemented at that time. These measures remain in place and will be reviewed again on completion of the Fund’s Financial Statements.

In mid January 2010, the Trustee will provide a further update.
